ncn offer Apprenticeships in the following areas:
What is an Apprenticeship?
An Apprenticeship is a nationally recognised Training Scheme for employed people aged 16 – 24 who would like to gain work based qualifications. You can earn whilst you learn, with employers paying you a minimum wage, currently up to £80 per week.
Apprenticeships are available at two levels:
Apprenticeships
- A Level 2 course, which means you’ll work towards a National Vocational Qualification Level 2 (NVQ) in your chosen specialist area
- You'll also gain Key Skills qualifications which teach you valuable skills such as problem solving, working with people, and communications
- Although there is no fixed time scale it should take approximately twelve months to complete
If you successfully complete an Apprenticeship you can apply to progress on to an Advanced Apprenticeship.
Advanced Apprenticeships
- A Level 3 course which means you’ll work towards a National Vocational Qualification Level 3 (NVQ) in your chosen specialist area
- You’ll continue to advance your training in Key Skills
- Although there is no fixed time scale it should take approximately eighteen months to complete
Entry Requirements
Entry requirements can vary according to the particular Apprenticeship but you would usually be required to have 5 GCSE’s with grades A-D in Mathematics and English. It is required that you are already employed in a job that will enable you to experience all the aspects of your chosen trade that will be needed for you to complete your NVQ.
Further your career with a Foundation Degree
If you successfully complete your Advanced Apprenticeship you could decide to complete a Foundation Degree. Foundation Degrees are new and innovative degree level qualifications. They were designed and developed with employers so that they fit perfectly into the world of work.
Other Work Based Learning Routes to Employment
If any of the above courses don't suit your current needs there are other Work Based Learning courses not currently available at ncn. Click on the links below for more information:
